I previewed the book at my local tobacconist-smoking club, and realized that I knew little technical information.

I recommend the book for any serious cigar smoker. I have been smoking cigars for 64 years. I especially liked the author's discussion about the "flavors " of cigars/5(60).

Im very glad that I tried again with Seethaler (I couldnt grasp the appeal of A Whole Life), because The Tobacconist is one of the few best novels Ive read this year, and very much a book for our times despite being set in Seventeen-year-old Franz Huchels life changes for good when his mother sends him away from his quiet lakeside village to work for /5.
